Someone once said "care shows in small things." It might have been a Zen philosopher, it might have been an AI chatbot, it might have even been me, just now, aloud to no one else while writing this description.

But, that's pretty much what we strive to do. This company is a niche upon a boutique within a specialty in a hobby for only the most hardcore. Yet, in the very long war between 'ease of use' and 'geometric reality', we continue to agonize on decisions of seemingly minuscule importance to provide the absolute best product we can. Because care indeed shows in small things.

We're proud to bring our latest offering, the first product we have ever offered which was designed in conjunction with the design team of the game behind it. A monster anthology of 4 individual games, each with overlapping pieces and of enormous complexity. A game which we've eyed on the shelf as a potential capstone for our wargaming careers.

This is the PeckLabs Designs organizer for the Third World War: Designer Signature Edition.

SORTED BY SCENARIO

There are three scenario trays: Battle for Germany, Southern Front, and Persian Gulf / Arctic Front. Inside each one, counters are sorted by setup and turn of entry, one nation or formation per bin. Warsaw Pact forces are color coded with red bins and NATO receive blue bins. Other forces receive a white bin, with markers and scenario specific counters resting in the color of their respective trays.

EVERY COUNTER DESERVES A HOME

Every single counter of the ~ 2,000 in the game has been mapped out and assigned to one of the 325 storage bins. While certainly this storage will work if you want to just chuck units in and pray to find them later, the intention is that by ordering by 1) game 2) turn order 3) side and 4) nation, setup is extremely streamlined.

Our storage guides online provide a searchable database for every unit, and are created in several ways. For initial setup, the "Sheet to Bin" view provides a Sheet | Row | Column indication on where every counter should be stored.

Putting it away works the same way. Follow the scenario’s turn of entry sheet back into the trays.

As the Third World War: Designer Signature Edition actually contains 4 sub-games and re-uses components, we've assigned Battle for Germany with highest priority, then Southern Front, then Persian Gulf / Arctic Front to break storage ties. Bins are assigned based on their base scenario parameters.

MARKERS

Two marker strips and seven smaller top strips, each with its own lid. Every marker well has its value printed in the floor, so putting markers away is easy.

LIDS

The scenario trays get beefy 5.5mm dovetail sliding lids, with engineered slides to hold in place when closed. The top strips have snap-on lids.

STORAGE GUIDE

Available online references to identify where every unit in the Third World War Designer Signature Edition resides.

OPTIONAL STICKER MAP UPGRADE

Polyester stickers are available as an upgrade, with a map printed on the underside of each scenario lid in high resolution. This provides more detail on what units are in which bins.

VERTICAL SAFE

Nothing is spilling here, everything is vertical storage safe. However, approximately 1-1.5CM of lid lift (based on manual/map compression) is present.
