*ORGANIZER ONLY DOES NOT INCLUDE GAME COMPONENTS*
We like to think we're pretty good at making use of the most of the space available to us, but there were times when we thought this simply couldn't be done. But, we figured it out.
Utilizing every single cubic millimeter of the box, we figured out how to organize Panzer: North Africa, the manuals, maps, tile overlays, tank cards, and counters. With no lid lift, and pieces (generally) highly accessible and ready to use.
Our organizer consists of 16 separate pieces, each uniquely measured and designed to serve a specific role:
- 6 for storing tank counters
- 3 for storing infantry counters, turret alignments and dice
- 2 for storing tile overlays
- 5 heavily contoured counter storage trays to fit around the manuals and maps of the game
Tank Counters:
Tank counters are stored in 4 removable trays, housed inside of a hexagonal box. The box has a sliding lid with dovetails which snaps into place, ensuring pieces do not spill inside of the box. Each tray has 16 storage bins, with a depth of 7 counters each. In total this means 448 counters could be stored in these trays, more than sufficient for the 352 counters in Panzer: North Africa.
There is some mild 'double-stacking' where units with 8 counters might need to be in a mixed stack. But this is generally minimized due to the number of storage bins.
Infantry Counters:
Infantry counters are stored in one removable bin with 176 counters of storage. Two mixed stacks are required of mixing Italian/German mortar teams and some excess control markers. Turret alignment counters and dice fit inside the container, which nests inside of a dove-tailed, hexagonal lid, with a locking clasp.
Hexagon Overlays:
These are housed in two removable gray trays, which are broadly designed to fit the overlays based on their general size. The largest is configured to house the biggest river/delta overlay tiles from the game, with the smallest going to single hill hexes.
Counter Trays:
A large "L" shaped tray wraps around the maps within the box, with 14 storage bins of varying size. Smaller bins are designed to fit in the gap between the manuals/reference cards and the box and in the space between the tank reference cards at the bottom of the box. Like we said, we had to use every single cubic millimeter of space to get the game to fit.
When assembled, the game has no lid lift and can be stored in the vertical position on a game shelf without fear of pieces falling loose.
We are really pleased with this design, and hope you will be as well.
