This insert stores everything in the original box while keeping setup fast and components secure. Our design features 17 removable bins across 3 boxes, each with sliding, locking dovetail lids for secure transport and quick table access. You’ll have every counter, unit, and support piece ready for play in seconds.
A 6-deck card organizer rounds out the system (note: sleeves are not supported due to space constraints).
Design Approach
We mapped every chit, measured available space, and tested thousands of layout permutations to create the most efficient, playable, and satisfying storage solution for Combat Commander.
This edition of the game spans six major nations—Germany, Italy, France, Britain, America, and the USSR—each with unique forces and support assets. Our organizer dedicates:
2 trays per major nation (one for troops/teams, one mixed with equipment).
12 trays total (printed in black) for primary factions.
Some overflow, such as additional Soviet SMG teams, need to be stored in other nation's bins. The unit count for the USSR is too large relative to others to maximize space/functionality.
Minor Powers & Markers
Two gray trays provide storage for minor nations like Poland and Finland, with two additional gray trays for status and fortification markers. A 3-compartment catch-all tray for mines, barbed wire, and smoke nests neatly within this box, all sealed under a dovetail-locking lid.

Unfortunately we do not possess a copy of CC: Pacific or Resistance. The Expansion Trays would fit 3 of the major nations from the 20th Anniversary Set. They are one set of 6 black trays, 1 box, and 1 lid.
This would fit in total 408 unit/team/squad sized icons and 144 pieces of equipment/supporting arms/radios. These boxes would need to be stored separately within one of the expansion boxes. Boxes are 25.3MM high and fit 2 lengthwise in standard GMT size footprint. It should be possible to accomodate 4 of them in the 50MM GMT boxes and 6 of them in the 75MM GMT boxes with modest box lift.
